REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING JANUARY 25, 2003       2:00 P.M.

 

The regular membership meeting was held on Sunday, January 25, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Keith Hammond presiding.

 

The 98  members present paid their respects to the flag.

 

Prayer was held for the membership and for the local.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Roll call was taken with Tony Branscomb, Kathy Coleman, Kim Derringer, Jerry Fyffe, George Kleinfelder, Ed Potter, Gary Reagan, Dwayne Myers absent.  Latrice Dewitt on sick leave.  Rick Inman on vacation.

 

Motion made and seconded to dispense with the reading of the December membership minutes, subject to question.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made and seconded to approve the January executive board minutes as read, subject to question.

 

Motion approved unanimously.

 

Recommendations:

 

Recommended sending the officers and two delegates to the special division conference March 4-7 in Orlando, Florida.

 

Motion was made and seconded to approve the recommendation.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN, DAVE HEIZER:

 

Reported on the status of the grievance procedure.

REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, DAVID HILL:

 

Reported that I would be contacting IUE Legal on waiving the attendance requirements and that I would report back next month to the Executive Board and membership, after I hear from Peter Mitchell.

 

Reported on recall of laid off employees. Some of them were getting job security on this recall and picking up additional corporate paid benefits if they are laid off again.

REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT, KEITH HAMMOND:

 

Reported that the IUE-CWA political planning classes will be held on Febuary 5th, 2004 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Reported on election notice placed in the IUE-CWA News.

 

Reported that the 1,000 vehicle certificate for retirees has been resolved.

 

The Robert L. Livingston scholarship must be filed online.  The website is www.iue-cwaautomotive.com.  March 1st is the deadline.

 

Reported that Hooters on 725 is giving our members a 14% discount for February.

 

Reported Bingo is up and running.
