Dear Brothers and Sisters:

We hope that everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day.  We should all take a moment every day to think about the service men and women who are representing our country around the world and to wish them a safe return home.

The regular membership meeting will be held on Sunday June 3, 2007.  Along with the regular order of business, there will be an election for delegates to the International IUE-CWA.  Please attend and vote!!!

Remember that no union political activity can take place on the job.  Acceptable union political activities may take place on breaks and lunch and before and after shifts are over.  Also, be advised that no political flyers may be passed out inside the Union hall during Sunday’s meeting.

Steve Lykins, the Trustee appointed for our Local by the International, will be here to speak to the membership on Sunday.

All employees who have taken the special attrition package will have to be out of the plant no later than July 22, 2007 to be eligible for any type of training (HCTC), healthcare tax credit or any other benefits.  The employees who chose the buyout should return to the Career Transition Center at 4257 Dryden Rd.  Moraine, Ohio 45439, or call (937) 496-7397 or (937) 496-7398.  The employees who chose to retire should contact the job center at Edwin C. Moses Blvd. Dayton, Ohio 45422 or call 1-800-251-6237.   Because you retired, you are eligible for the same benefits. This petition, TA-W-57, 754 will expire August 22, 2007.   It will take the state at least four weeks to place a dislocated worker into some type of program.

The two week shutdown will be held from July 2nd through July 15th.

The officers would like to thank Steve Shope for helping out during the recent transition period.   Steve has now left the Union hall and we wish him well.

Angie Proctor and John Borum have been appointed as trustees for IUE-CWA Local 755.  They have been properly trained and will be checking the books and local assets each month.
