REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, DAVID HILL:

Reported that at 12:15, Paul  Hegwood called Keith, Larry and Dave and told them that the EBPC will not honor the 28 and 2 retirements while we are under bankruptcy.  Explained that this is not unusual, since the first Monday after  bankruptcy, they told us they would not pay workers comp. and we made them renig on that after talking to the Ohio industrial commission. We had problems with Edcore and we resolved that.  We will work on the 28 and 2 problem as well.  We have good language on it.  The International has been brought in.

Answered questions about the meetings in Troy last week and about benefits.

Motion was made and seconded to approve the executive secretary’s report.

Motion carried unanimously.

REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT, LARRY WEST:

Reported that there will be a Local 755 Bowling Tournament on November 12th at 12 noon at Poelking Lanes on Wilmington Pike.  The entrance fee is $15 per person and prizes will be awarded to the first three places.   Proceeds will benefit the Children’s Christmas party, which is scheduled for December 11th, 2005.  For an entry form, see Brad Rice, Scott Bowling or Mark Shinkle.

Thanked Scott Bowling for representing the Local at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Dragon’s Stadium last Saturday.  Scott spoke to the crowd on behalf of the Local and also put together a team of walkers.  As in years past, Local 755 had a booth at the event and for the second year in a row, gave away donuts to the walkers.  Also, thanks to Sue Bostwick for her help manning the booth and to all Local 755 members who walked.

The Ohio AFL-CIO has endorsed Issues 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 on the statewide ballot this November.  They urge all Union members to support these issues, because they are good for organized labor and for working families.  You can get more information about these issues at www.ohaflcio.org
