REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The
regular 1st shift membership meeting was held on
The
43 members present paid their respects to the flag.
Prayer
was held for the membership and for the local.
Roll
call was taken with Scott Bowling in training, Joe Farmer, Von Fessler, Jim Holly, Mark Shinkle
and Denny Mesarvy absent. Ed Potter working.
A
motion was made and seconded to go into a special order of business for the
purposes of voting on proposed constitutional amendments.
Motion
carried unanimously.
The
first proposed constitutional amendment was read. “Any member in good standing
shall have copies made available to them for their possession upon request, any
Regular Membership, Special Membership, Executive Board, Special Executive
Board, Skilled Trades, or Special Skilled Trades Meeting Minutes within two (2)
weeks of said meeting, except Executive Board Minutes which must be made
available prior to the following Membership Meeting.”
Questions
were asked and answered.
A
vote was taken with all present voting to accept the proposed amendment as
read.
The
amendment will be adopted pending approval of the International Union.
The
second proposed amendment was read: “Any
member in good standing shall have copies made available to them for their
possession upon request, any Memorandum, Memorandum of Understanding,
Published, Unpublished, or any other type document that pertains or relates to
the Collective Bargaining Agreements of IUE-CWA Local 755 or any member therein
in any way, shape or form.”
Questions
were asked and answered.
A
vote was taken with 7
voting for and 30 voting against.
The
second amendment is defeated, the total vote on both
shifts being 23 for and 33 against.
Motion
was made and seconded to return to the regular order of business.

carried unanimously.
Motion made and seconded to dispense with the
reading of the March membership meeting minutes, subject to question.
Motion carried unanimously..
Motion made and seconded to approve the April
Executive Board minutes as read, and recommendations therein, subject to
question.

& Service Solutions (DPSS) toured our plant this month with the intent of
selling more of our products in the after-market business

that the 154 Department Header, which was sold at a surplus equipment auction
last year because of lack of use, will start being dismantled this summer.
Reported that April 29th,
this Friday, Scott Mitchell from the AHG will be coming into the plant. The
meeting will be held from

coming in to the plant and removing some payphones. Ten phone booths will remain in the plant.
Due to the slow sales in North American, Local 801
will be sending 120 of their job protected employees back to plant 10 starting
May 31, 2005.
Due to Mike Bindas and
Denny Thomas’ retirements, Jim Clark is now the President of the IUE-CWA. Henry Reichard is
now the Conference Board Chairman.
Willie Thorpe will be head of Region 7.
Gave an update on direct
deposit. It will be happening soon.

REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, DAVID HILL:
Reported that Larry West and David have been working
with CWA so that Dave can go to

that he got his results back from the February conference board and got some
good news that one of our local popular dentists south of town has now been
cleared and all bills will be paid.
Also
reported that at the conference board meeting in May in
Reported on American Built cars compared to the
Japanese and the wide variety of price range and stock prices in the Japanese’s
favor.

executive secretary’s report.

REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT, LARRY WEST:
Reported that the IUE-CWA
Golf Outing for the Children’s Christmas party fund will be held on Saturday,
June 25th at Larch Tree Golf Course.
Reported
that we have come to an arrangement with the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical
Gardens to provide discount tickets for our members.
Reported
that we are also working on a package deal with King’s

that the college fair was our most successful one to date. We had 13
schools represented and approximately 75 people attended.
Reported that today is Worker’s
Memorial Day. Reported
on the ceremony that we attended at the plant.
