REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING NOVEMBER 30, 2005       3:30 P.M.

 

The regular 1st shift membership meeting was held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. with Larry West presiding.

 

The 30 members present paid their respects to the flag.

 

Prayer was held for the membership and for the local.

 

Roll call was taken with Mike Allen, Todd Baker, John Ballard Jr., Joe Farmer, Jerry Fyffe, Tony Hamblin, Tracy Kelly, Denny Mesarvy and Brad Rice absent.  Sue Bostwick, Scott Bowling, Dan Palmer all working. Brian Woolum on vacation.

 

Motion made and seconded to approve the reading of the October membership meeting minutes, subject to question.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made and seconded to approve the November Executive Board minutes as read, subject to question.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Recommended spending up to $2000 out of the general fund for the Children’s Christmas party as needed.


Recommended canceling the Deember membership meeting due to the holidays unless a special meeting becomes necessary because of the
Delphi bankruptcy proceedings.

 

Motion was made and seconded to approve the recommendations.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

 

REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN, KEITH BAILEY:

 

Reported on the status of the grievance procedure.

Reported that the 45 cent COLA increase would go into effect on December 5th.

 

Reported on the 28 and 2 for December 1st and how the company wanted us to do productivity improvements.  According to the conference board, we did not have to.

 

Reported on a leaflet put out be Delphi and how they are moving the 1113 deadline to January 20th.

 

Reported on the meeting last week with Delphi CEO Robert Steve Miller.

 

Reported that management is trying very hard to outsource the janitorial services in plant 10.

 

Read a letter to the membership addressed to Joe Campbell from Paul Hegwood about vacation.

REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, DAVID HILL:

 

Reported that Cheryl Rice will be in the benefit office and Brian Woolum will be working out of the hall during this retirement series.

 

Explained to the membership that even though there is no money involved, the EBPC has to approve anything other than a normal retirement.

 

Reported that management was having a field day with employees who are calling the National Benefit Center for sick leave papers and not returning them within 45 days.  If that happens, that is an occurrence under the no fault attendance plan and they have discharged several employees to date.

 

Motion was made and seconded to approve the executive secretary’s report.

REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT, LARRY WEST:

 

Reported that the Local 755 Children’s Christmas party will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 11th.   The deadline for calling your child’s name in is Friday, December 2nd at 4 p.m.

 

Reported that on Saturday, December 10th there will be a Delphi Coalition Rally at Court House Square downtown (3rd and Main St.) at 12 noon.  Strongly urged everyone to attend and bring their friends and families,

 

Reported that a new bingo will be coming into the hall soon.

 

Reported that there will be a gate collection for the Children’s Christmas party this Friday.
