The Making Strides Against
Breast Cancer five mile walk is Saturday, October 22 at

Be a walker and
raise as many donations as you can from family, friends, co-workers and others.
2.
Sponsor a walker
with a generous, tax-deductable contribution.
3.
Volunteer your
time and talent the day of the event.
4.
Learn to protect
yourself from breast cancer with early detection.
The Local will have a team
walking. I urge all of you to take part or donate. Most of us know someone who has battled
breast cancer. We need to do everything
we can to help find the cure.
The United Way Flu shots will
be held at the Union hall on Sunday, October 16th from
October is the last month to
buy and use discounted Cincinnati Zoo tickets.
It’s a great month to take your children or grandchildren to the zoo,
because the cooler weather has the animals more lively and there are special
events, like Hallzooween, taking place on weekends starting October 14th. On the Hallzooween weekends, which are Oct.
14-16, 21-22, 28 -30th, kids 12 and under will receive free treat
tickets and a free trick or treat bad to collect goodies at various treat
stations throughout the zoo. Zoo
Tickets can still be purchased at the Union hall.
Bowling Tournament –
Brad Rice will be chairing a bowling
tournament to raise additional money for the Children’s Christmas Party. The
tournament will take place on November 19th at 12 noon at Poelking
on Wilmington. To sign up, call Brad
Rice at 5-7209 or Mark Shinkle at
5-7324. Also watch for plant postings.
Reported
that he and Brian Woolum were working on getting discounted Bombers Tickets for
our members.
