REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING MARCH 27, 2003 4:00 P.M.

The regular 1st shift membership meeting was held on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. with Keith Hammond presiding.

The 38 members present paid their respects to the flag.

Prayer was held for the membership and for the local.

Roll call was taken with Keith Bailey, Kim Derringer, Dwayne Meyers on vacation. Ken Luneke, Jim patton, Jeff Jett, Kathy Coleman, Jim Bonner absent.

Motion made and seconded to dispense with the reading of the February membership minutes, subject to question.

Motion carried unanimously.

Motion made and seconded to approve the March executive board minutes as read, subject to question.

REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN, DAVE HEIZER:

Reported on the status of the grievance procedure.

Dave reported that we could have some voluntary layoffs coming very soon.

Explained why supervisors were carrying around stop watches.

Reported on J.T. Battenburg’s salary. Now 9.5 million dollars per year.

Gave an update on formulating demands for the National negotiations.

Reported on upcoming fish fry.

Reported on the rumor that 801 was coming over to plant 11.

Reported on management sending out an unapproved document on safety glasses.

Motion made and seconded to approve the chairman’s report subject to question.

REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, DAVID HILL:

Reported that the traditional employees should have received a personal total compensation summary. Should have been mailed out by March 17^th.

The competitive new hired should have had their credited service statement. If they have not received it, they should see their benefit rep.

Reported on District 7 meeting. The topic was the high cost of health care.

REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT, KEITH HAMMOND:

Reported that Judge Walter Rice threw out the Greenwood lawsuit against the Union.

Reported that on June 23-26, the officers will be going to Washington, DC for a pre-negotiations meeting to formulate national demands.

Reported that District 7’s last official meeting before we become part of District 4 will be held in November.

Reported that Jerry Sprinegr will be at the DMV AFL-CIO on March 28^th.

Reported on the Tom Delay letter. He is the House Majority Leader.

Reported that Local 755 is receiving a company that cares award from the United Way that will be presented on May 7^th.

Reported that the scholarship application deadline has been extended to April 30^th.

Reported on the Children’s Easter party that will be held on April 6^th. Sue Bostwick needs helpers to set up.

Reported on the upcoming American Cancer Society Fish Fry, March 28^th.

Reported that April 3^rd is the official deadline for submitting articles to Union Do’s.
