REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING JANUARY 26, 2006       3:30 P.M.

 

The regular 1st shift membership meeting was held on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. with Larry West presiding.

 

The 37 members present paid their respects to the flag.

 

Prayer was held for the membership and for the local.

 

Roll call was taken with Todd Baker, John Ballard Jr., Joe Farmer, Ed Potter, Cheryl Rice, Steve Shope and Tim Stuck absent.  Sue Bostwick, Scott Bowling, Tracy Kelly and Dan Palmer working.  Mark Shinkle sick.

 

Motion made and seconded to dispense with the reading of the November membership meeting minutes, subject to question.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made and seconded to approve the January Executive Board minutes as read, subject to question.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

 

REPORT OF THE CHAIRMAN, KEITH BAILEY:

 

Reported on the status of the grievance procedure.

Reported that Scott Mitchell  from the Automotive holding group will be here February 8th, 2006 at 3 p.m.  Keith explained that the extention of the reorganization does not take away the corporation’s ability to file 1113 and 1114 motions with the bankruptcy court in February.

 

Reported that the additional time off and leftover vacation will be paid on this week’s check.  Unused Edo days will be paid on next week’s check.

 

Read three letters, two that he wrote to Paul Hegwood and one that Paul Hegwood wrote back about taking a proposal to the EBPC.

REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, DAVID HILL:

 

Reported that Premier is back in the Anthem network as of 1-1-06.  It was a long year for them.  They came back at the same rate they were offered in the beginning.

 

Reported on the problems we have been having with Fidelity with the retirement packages.  They are also sending out incorrect 1099R’s.  We are also having problems with PSP not being properly taken out of people’s checks.

 

Reported on the way Ford is downsizing in a unique way, helping out their laid off membes.

 

Reported on UAW and their fight with the corporation to allow retirees to keep their health care.

 

Motion was made and seconded to approve the executive secretary’s report.

 

Motion carried unanimously.

 

REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT, LARRY WEST:

 

Reported on the new bingo coming in to the hall.

 

Reported that Twenty Madison street has taken out an ad in the yellow pages under banquet facilities. $500 a year.

 

Reported on the Delphi mobilization Tshirts that should arrive any day,

 

Reported on the next fish fry, Friday, March 31 for American Cancer society.

 

Reported on the trip Larry and Keith took to Columbus last Friday.

 

Reported on how the financial situation at the Local has improved.

 

Motion was made and seconded to approve the President’s report, subject to question.
