United Way Food Pantry

If you have been off work and not receiving sick leave pay or worker's comp., you may be eligible to visit the AFL-CIO United Way Food Pantry. The Food Pantry provides food staples to workers who are in need.

Eligibility:  You must be a union member in good standing. Your household income must be less than $200 per week from all sources after the second week of layoff, strike, or loss of pay from illness or injury. There must be two or fewer adults in the household in order to be eligible.

Retirees drawing a pension are NOT eligible. Members on any form of public assistance such as general relief, aid to dependent children, food stamps, social security or workers comp are NOT eligible.

Members requesting services from the pantry who appear to be under the influence will be denied.

To determine eligibility, contact Kim Derringer at the IUE-CWA Local 755 Union hall.  Kim also has the forms that need to be filled out and signed by the President of the Local.

The food pantry hours are 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The pantry is located at 184 Salem Ave.
